Fortunately, I was able to meet up with two local Wings of Rogallo club members, John and Kathy Wilde, who were incredibly helpful with regard to site information. Additionally, they spent time with me both days shuttling me up the hill numerous times to complete the obligatory "spot landing" requirements for P2's which are required prior to launching from the top launch - 1,750 feet.
Shockingly, they asked for nothing in return both days. They seemed to truly care that everyone flew safely, had the requisite skills, and met club guidelines, which seemed only fair to be able to fly such a nice site.
As the attached club map shows, there are multiple launches, but don't bother trying to head up to launch yourself. You'll need the combinations to numerous gate locks (due to the numerous cattle and horses roaming the park), a local club sticker (which can be bought at a local paragliding/hang gliding shop) and a 4-wheel drive vehicle for the top launch. The best thing to do to guarantee flying is to either call someone within the club to get the requisite information (for P2's and below - the name of a sponsor, for P3's - the combinations for the locks) or head to the landing zone on weekends and wait for someone to show up to share rides, get information and find a sponsor if necessary. The site statistics can be found at Ed Levin Park.
